From Stock Broker to SaaS Founder

Rajiv Shah has been reading Dubai's market cycles longer than most. He arrived in 2008 from the UK, where he had spent 15–20 years as a stock broker and investment banker, with plans to move into wealth management. Three months after landing, the global credit crunch hit. He pivoted into insurance — and stayed there for 12 years.

Then COVID arrived, and with it, a brutal reset.

"We lost literally 80% of our book of business. My only thought at that time was: if I want to stay in this country, I want to get into a business that's online — either e-commerce or SaaS based."

That decision became Someli.ai, a platform he started building with a small group of friends and co-investors roughly three to four years ago.

What Someli.ai Actually Does

The name is literal: Social Media Library. The original concept was a static collection of ready-made posts for financial advisers and insurance brokers. When ChatGPT and generative AI arrived, the team rebuilt the back end around it — and realised they could serve any industry, not just financial services.

Today the workflow looks like this: you enter your company website, the AI reads it, understands your services, target audience, and brand voice, and within 24 hours produces a two-week content calendar of branded posts, video ideas, and reels — all formatted in your colours and logos, ready to publish.

Someli.ai connects to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and TikTok through a built-in scheduler. YouTube, Google My Business, and Pinterest are on the roadmap.

"80% of businesses post half-hazardly. They don't have a strategy, they don't have a clear objective, they don't have a good content mix. AI literally takes over and creates all of that content and strategy for your business."

The platform currently covers Phase 1: generating reel ideas and written scripts with full branding. Phase 2 — AI text-to-video that converts those scripts into finished videos — is already built in the back end, with a front-end rollout expected within two months.

Lead generation tools are also in the pipeline: a branded inquiry form embedded in posts, designed to pull inbound leads by locality and industry. That too is a two-month target.

Who Is It For?

Rajiv is direct: anyone. Early traction came from dental practices and real estate brokerages — 80% of the initial client base was UAE-based. The platform has since expanded to business setup companies, fitness instructors, yoga teachers, cake shops, florists, recruitment firms, and accounting practices.

Solo operators and large teams both qualify. Individual accounts need no minimum team size.

Pricing

Three plans are available:

For context, the $199 plan effectively replaces a fractional marketing team at a fraction of the cost.

The Affiliate Programme

One of the more unusual aspects of Someli.ai is its affiliate model. Anyone — Rajiv specifically mentioned stay-at-home parents and networkers — can sign up at affiliate.someli.ai and earn a 50/50 revenue share on every client they refer. On a $99 plan, that is $49 recurring, every month, for as long as the client stays.

"Every small business wants low cost, AI, automation, and access to a ready-made library for their social media. With the people who can bring business to us, we have a revenue sharing model — unlimited recurring income."

There is no cap, and the programme is open globally.

Why Dubai, Still

Rajiv has watched the emirate move through multiple cycles — the 2008 crash, the post-2015 slowdown, the pandemic trough, and the sustained upswing that followed. His read is straightforward: the density of SMEs here, particularly in real estate, business setup, and professional services, makes Dubai one of the highest-concentration markets for a tool like Someli.ai.

The live demo recorded during this episode is worth seeing firsthand — the content planner, the branded post library, and the scheduler all in one dashboard. No amount of description quite replaces watching 24 hours of work appear on a screen in seconds.
